Newspeak

The language of Oceania from 1984. It's stated purpose is to eliminate non oceanic thought. Basically if you remove a word like freedom from the language and include it's synonyms, there won't be a word to describe that particular concept and therefor it will be that much more difficult to formulate. Even more difficult would be conveying the concept to someone else. In relation to modern society we can also draw upon the similarity of redefining such concepts. Take the quote, "they hate us because we're free" and look at some of the direct outcomes from that statement the USA patriot act for example. Something that truly does directly limit our freedoms.

first post!

Alright, so I've finally decided to begin my foray into keeping track of whatever I deem particularly important and posting it for all to see. I envision this largely as a method of keeping in touch with people, specifically in terms of a journal of my more interesting activities and observations. I've been holding off on blogging for one reason or another, one of them was the fact that I wanted to wait until I bought myself a camera, but that probably won't happen anytime soon. So no pictures for you, unless I decide to borrow one from someone else. However, I did want to start off with a video and here it is! This is the ADR session from when we went into the recording studio, thanks to Chris for uploading it and making it into a little easily palatable snippet. That's all for now, check in often. Love to all.
